BRADFORD TRAVEL presents...a Tour to Honor & Remember our Heroes ~~~ Flight 93 .. Fort Ligonier .. Quecreek Mine.. Saturday, September 07, 2019 Take a journey to learn firsthand about the tragic yet heroic events that happened with Flight 93 on 9/11/2001 and Quecreek Mine Rescue on 7/27/2002. Common fields one day, fields of honor forever. Step back in time and discover the Fort that held the fate of an Empire in Fort Ligonier... The Flight 93 National Memorial is located at the site of the crash of United Airlines Flight 93, which was hijacked in the September 11 attacks. The memorial was made to honor the passengers and crew of Flight 93, who stopped the terrorists from reaching their target. The Flight 93 Memorial Chapel is a refurbished parish church dedicated to the honor and glory of God and to the Heroes of Flight 93, the innocents who perished on September 11, 2001. The non-denominational Chapel is recognized as the first permanent memorial to Flight 93 and was dedicated on Sept. 11, 2002. Fort Ligonier journey back to the 18th century to a place where the flag of His Majesty King George still flies. During your visit, you will discover museum galleries, world-class exhibits and extensive archaeological collections as well as explore the impressive Fort, a full-scale, on-site restoration/reconstruction of the 1758-1766 original, situated on a commanding hilltop in the beautiful Laurel Highlands. Quecreek Mine Rescue Site - Visit the rescue site where the miners emerged from the dark, cold mine 240 feet below after 77 hours of frigid darkness. You will be greeted by the 7 foot tall bronze statue of a coal miner at the top of the walkway into the rescue site. Here the story of the miracle from people personally involved in the rescue. Touch the rescue capsule and try to imagine how it would feel to squeeze into it with your strength nearly gone.
